6th Form • Confusion about choosing Uni course

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice here. My child is in Yr 12 and has chosen Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. Until about 3 months ago, she was very keen on pursuing medicine. We have visited a few Uni Open Days she has done work shadowing at hospitals and she also goes for a weekly volunteering at a local care home.

Now she is mighty confused if medicine is the right choice for her and she also regrets dropping Further Maths. Most kids at her school are firm on what Uni course they aim to study and my child feels completely lost. It has had a knock down effect on her confidence and mental health. She says she feels very pressured, finds life boring and studies no more fun. She has also talked about taking a gap year to think it through.

I'm looking for advice about how to support her:
Has anyone been in this situation?
Will it be wise to choose Further Maths halfway through in Year 12?
Will it be good to go to a career consultant to clear her confusion?
When do children generally firm up their Uni courses?

Please help! Tia!
