This will change every year. It will depend on how many who got the school on offer day had it as their first choice, how many applied and didn’t get an offer but want one, how many are thinking about private schools, number of Y7 aged children in the area etc etc.
Most school admission teams will let you know last waiting list movement which may give you some idea.
