Hi, my son is out of area and is on the waiting list for Altrincham boys grammar school. He got into sale grammar school which we are happy with (also out of area).
How do I find out the likelihood of being offered a place at AGSB?
My sister says there should be published results and distance somewhere but I can’t find it.
Just want to know our chances so I can help prep my son if needed. Score 356, 7miles from school. My understanding is he should have got in previous years with that score.
We moved up to the area just before 11+ entrance requirements so did not get to visit either school.
Thanks
There is no way to find out if it is likely. You could speak to Trafford admissions and find out how long the wait list is. He may have got in in previous years but competition seems to getting fiercer every year so you have to take each year by itself.
The council will publish the scores at some point but I don’t know when. My guess is the out of catchment score will be higher than last years.
My advice is to accept sale and be very happy with it as it’s an excellent school. There’s thousands of kids who didn’t get in at all. Congratulations to your son, he has done amazing. Well done.
