Trafford • Re: Trafford Exam Results October 2024

Hello, please we've been a bit worried since the result came out and it's been a case of uncertainty around likelihood of getting the most preferred posting or even any posting.
My DD passed all schools; AGGS- Pass; Sale- 359; Stretford 365; Urmston 364, Loreto 402. With her relatively high score in Loreto, we thought she could have a chance because that's really where we want. But we fall into Cat 6 which is for baptised, but of a non-Catholic denomination.
We live 3.07 miles from AGGS. That's what we put eventually as first choice.
Do you think we have the guarantee of securing a place in AGGS or even in Sale Grammar where we live 1.81 miles from. Although I think Sale Grammar place 'Scores' in higher priority than 'Proximity within catchment'. I just want some assurance for my DD who is very disturbed due to uncertainty around these criteria. The reason is obviously we don't know how many people live closer to these schools than us or scored higher than her.
Thank you Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
:)
Have you ssen the historic data for AGGS? It's there in their website in FAQ. They never fall below 5 miles, so you're 99% guarantee the place there.
Although, if Loreto is one you really want, you should put it as your first choice and AGGS as the second. You won't lose anything with this strategy but might get Loreto at the end. You will always get AGGS if you put it after Loreto.
Sale grammar prefer high scores only for those who are not in their catchment area. If you are in (which is you most likely are with that distance), you will have a place there as well.
