Could someone please tell me - in Kent - if there are more students in a grammar school found suitable for admission by a panel than there are places, how do the panel then decide who to admit? Do they then apply the school’s over subscription criteria only?
So…take student A and student B. Both fail the test. Student A has lower scores initially than student B. Both go to appeal. Both are found to have academic evidence which means their the panel want to uphold their appeals but there aren’t enough spaces for both. So what happens next? As student A lives nearer the school and has a sibling there, they actually get a place over student B, even though initially in the 11 + student B got a higher mark? Is this correct? Thanks. Just curious!
