Any recommendation for the independent schools. So far, we are looking at Richard Pate Prep School and Ashley Manor.

I don't know either school but made a similar move quite a while back to a different part of the country and had to look for a school for my DD. Didn't have any recommendations from anyone but found that visiting made the decision very easy as - all the schools we looked at would have been fine, were very welcoming and had very encouraging atmospheres - however DD just really liked one more than the others and it was clearly a better fit for her so we went with it - very much a gut response on the day
