I just wanted to update for potential future readers of this thread who are in similar position. The twin who wants to go to HBS hasn’t stopped going on about it (which has included her writing lengthy word documents on the case for HBS). I feel that I’m impacting her self esteem by doing the opposite of what she wants.
So wanting to explore options, I called the LA who said that we can now make an application to switch the CAF preferences. That will not impact the current in time application so it is likely DAO will be offered on offer day. The switch of preferences will be considered as a late application (and so she would go on to the waiting list on offer day for HBS). So by changing preferences now I will not be endangering the DAO place (as long as I accept the offer in time). I can then see what happens with the waiting lists. Waiting lists operate in accordance with over subscription criteria (so being a late application shouldn’t impact her position).
