Thought I’d come back and update - at the interview the head said they’d had over 600 applications, had called back about half for interview, and had “around 100” spaces to fill. Later on one of the teachers said there were around 170 in a year, so assuming all the 60 (?) prep boys come up it would mean about 110 spaces to fill. No idea how many offers they will make for those spaces.
The interview itself was an English 121 looking at a piece of prose and discussing it, and a Maths 121 going through some questions orally. Then a 2 teacher / 2 pupil “chat” to talk about interests etc. While the boys were being interviewed the parents had the chance to chat to some teachers. All very well run and welcoming, now just the long wait till February 14th.
