Pertinent point. If you are a long-term Southwnd resident, your DS will be transferring from. having spent at least the whole of year 6, or better still, several years longer, at a Southend primary school etc and you don't move to wherever you are going as soon as your DS steps over the threshold at WHSB, then you are probably okay - it's the fraudulent obtaining of a place that is one of the reasons the place can be taken away even after the child has started. Admission authorities really shouldn't withdraw places unless that is the case, or an error was made in offering the place to start with (e.g. a few years ago, there was an error which iirc resulted in more 'special circumstances' applicants being offered than should have been according to the schools'admissions policies, the sorting out of which would have resulted in some DC losing places that they would never have been offered if the ranking had been undertaken correctly). How long have you lived in the area?Hello everyone,
My DS has successfully passed the CSSE 11+ exam. We reside in Southend, and he will be attending Westcliff Grammar School. I have been considering relocating to London and might do so by the end of next year. By then, my DS will have already started at the Grammar School.
My query is whether moving out of the Southend Council area will impact my son's admission to Westcliff Grammar School, given that his admission is based on the in-catchment criteria. Will the school allow him to continue his studies if we move outside the catchment area?
Thank you.
If, however, you originally registered your DS for the test from an out of area address and have only just provided SCC with proof of a local one and / or your DS is still attending an out of area primary school and you can evidence no attempt to even enquire about places locally, then changing address to an OOC one might well flag up a possible issue with your application / allocation of a place, especially if your DS's s ore was such that he would never have been offered with an OOC application.
If your DS's score was such that he would have got in from anywhere (and if the place were to be withdrawn and you reapplied, he would be at the top of the waiting list), then even if the application was deemed fraudulent, you might be lucky and not have the place withdrawn.
