We live in Chelmsford
DS1 went to SHSB
DD1 went to CCHS and then SHSB for 6th form
DD2 went to Moulsham
DD3 goes to CCHSG (Colchester)
DD4 goes to CCHSG too
DS1 and DD1 used school buses to get to school and enjoyed the journey. Both have lifelong friendships with people in Southend.
DD2 was completely traumatised by Moulsham and is still affected 2 years on so for us I would not recommend it as a school for many reasons
DD3 and DD4 used school bus until this year. Their bus to Colchester was unreliable with breaking down and sometimes just not turning up. Fortunately this year I’m in a position to take them and pick them up. We get home at exactly the same time as the Chelmsford girls/kegs bus passes our village. They have friends in Colchester, London and Ipswich and whilst it’s not always easy they do meet up with them.
Given my time again I would choose all the grammars over our local comp because our experience with them was appalling!
